  Grammar Structure 文法構造 -  が The subject of the modifying phrase is indicated by  が .     ·          それは ジョン・ ブラウンが   英語に 訳した 本です。 That is the book which was translated into English by John Brown.   Examples:     クラ ー クさん が うちへ かえる 時間は 7 時です。 - The time that Mr Clark goes home is 7 o clock. これは リ ー さんが京都で とった しゃしんです。 - This is the picture that Miss Lee took in Kyoto.

  Grammar Structure 文法構造 -  来ました   When the verb in the modifying phrase is in the past form (in this case.  来ました ), it is put in the form in this case, 来た ).   インドから 来た 友だちに 会いました。     I met a friend who came from India.   田中さんに 本を かりました。 - borrowed a book from Mr. Tanaka. その 本は  おもしろいです。 - The book is interesting. 田中さんに かりた 本は おもしろいです。 - The book which I borrowed from Mr Tanaka is interesting. Examples:     かりました     かりた テ ー プを すぐ かえして ください - Please return right away the tape that you borrowed. 見ました。   きのう 見た えいがは  おもしろく  なかったです。 - The movie which I saw yesterday wasn't interesting.

Grammar Structure 文法構造 - は / に / を ~ ている / てある       大木道男は   けいざいを   研究している   学者です。 Michio Oki is a scholar who is doing research in (the field of) economics.   The modifying phrase 研究して   います becomes 研究して   いる 大木道男は   学 者です。 - Michio Oki is a scholar. その 学 者は   けいざいを   研 究して   います。 - He is doing research in (the field of) economics. 大木道男は けいざいを 研 究して いる   学 者です 。 - Michio Oki is a scholar who is doing research in (the field of) economics. Examples:     あそこで コ ー ヒ ー を のんで いる 人は わたしの 友だちです 。 - The person who is drinking coffee over there is my friend. ホ ー ルで まって いる人はだれですか。 - Who is the man waiting in the hall? あの女の人は、この 会 社ではたらいて いる社員です。 - She is an emplo...

Grammar Structure   文法構造 ( わたしは ) ビルの 地下に ある 喫茶店に よりました。   I dropped in a coffee shop in the basement of a building.   In Japanese. a noun modifying phrase (in this case. ビルの     ちかに   ある ) comes before the noun (in this case. きっさてん ) which it modifies the verb of the noun modifying phrase (in this case. あります ) It is in the dictionary form as seen below. ドアの  近くに 人が います。 - There Is a person near the door. その  人は  ワンさんです。 - That person is Mr.Wong ドアの 近くに  いる  人は  ワンさんです。 - The person who is near the door is Mr. Wong 〜 に 〜 が / は (Verb) Examples:     この 会社に 英語が できる 人は   何人ぐらい いますか。 - How many people can speak English in this Company? あそこに いる 学生は   何を   して いますか。 - What is the student over there doing! ...
